Services Why IMPACT About Us Get In Touch

Streetworks Coordination & Section 74 Defence

Day-to-day coordination between contractors, authorities and clients, plus active defence against Section 74 overrun charges when works run into difficulty.

Streetworks Coordination & Section 74 Defence

Streetworks projects rarely involve just one party. Contractors, subcontractors, local authorities and clients all need to stay aligned, and when that coordination breaks down, the result is usually delay — and delay on a permitted works site means Section 74 charges.

IMPACT sits in the middle of that coordination, managing council liaison and communication so nothing falls through the gaps between parties. When works do overrun, we don't just accept the charge — we review the circumstances and build a case for mitigation or defence where the overrun wasn't reasonably avoidable.

This is scoped specifically to permits IMPACT itself has managed. We don't offer free defence or cost cover on charges from before our involvement — that liability sits with whoever managed the works at the time.

How Coordination & Defence Works

1

Coordination Set-Up

We establish clear communication lines between all parties involved in the works from the outset, reducing the chance of gaps or duplicated effort.

2

Ongoing Liaison

We handle day-to-day contact with the relevant authority, keeping works progressing and issues resolved before they cause delay.

3

Overrun Review

If a Section 74 charge is issued on a permit we've managed, we review the circumstances against what caused the overrun.

4

Defence or Mitigation

Where the overrun genuinely wasn't avoidable, we build and submit the case for charge mitigation or defence.
